Problem
Many food delivery platforms struggle to maintain user interest due to cluttered layouts, a lack of engaging visuals, and poorly organized food categories. Users often feel lost or uninterested when there’s no appealing way to discover food. Without a clear visual hierarchy or focused categorization, decision-making becomes tedious, which leads to low conversion rates and high bounce rates on food platforms.

Challenges
The main challenges in designing Ahar involved organizing a large volume of diverse food content in a way that didn’t overwhelm the user, while also maintaining a smooth, intuitive experience across all devices. It was essential to strike the right balance between visual appeal and functional usability, ensuring that the interface remained both engaging and easy to navigate, especially on mobile screens where space is limited.

To address these issues, the Ahar interface was built with a strong visual focus. Food items are presented in visually distinct sections with large, appealing images that spark interest at first glance. A horizontally scrollable restaurant carousel highlights top-rated restaurants, while category tabs allow users to filter items by Cook, Dine, Snack, or Saved. Each section, such as “Trending Now” or “Don’t Miss,” presents curated food selections that are timely and relevant. A prominent search bar and intuitive filter icon make it easy to find specific dishes.
